BOWLS

On Monday evening the local league semi finals were played at the outdoor pavilion. After a fantastic evening bowling Clontibret beat Ballybay Whites by just one shot and in the other semi Cootehill got the better of Ballybay Green. Clontibret will now play Cootehill in the final (date will be announced shortly). It is hoped that the final of the Jackie Rutledge Cup will take place on Monday next.
The games in the outdoor cup is making progress but was we are waiting on Latton and Ardaghey to get off the mark and hopefully they will play this week as will Muckno and Shercock.
The Town Tournament is making steady progress with Darren Smyth’s Newsagents having a comprehensive win over kevin Quinn’s Hardware store selection to reach the final. They will now play the winner of the postmen and the Soda Barrell.
The Border Counties team is still in top spot after last weeks games but the margin is getting small as there is only 3 points between Ballybay and Omagh whom we play this week away on Omagh’s grass green.
