Dog Fouling in Ballybay Town Park

It was highlighted at a recent meeting of the Ballybay Regeneration Committee meeting that there has been an increase in dog fouling at the Ballybay Town Park. Under Section 22 of the Litter Pollution Act 1997 it is an offence to allow a dog under your control to foul in a public place. This means the owner or person in charge of the dog is required to remove dog faeces and dispose of them in a suitable, sanitary manner. If you own a dog please be responsible and clean up after it otherwise you could find yourself in trouble and receive a fine.

Monaghan County Council Environmental Services will be carrying out joint inspection with Litter and Dog Warden in Ballybay Town Park over the coming months. Those found to be in non compliance with Litter or Dog Control act will be fined.
