The Border Counties bowling team had a comprehensive win over an Omagh bowling team last week when they played at home in the Mc Guirk Memorial Shield. They had a score of 78 shots to 40, so they carry forward 38 shots to the return match which is to be played on the Omagh green on Tuesday next the 31st May.
The local bowling league is progressing well now and there is some very interesting pairings in the next few weeks. Latton had a close win over Clontibret (4 points to 2) on Friday evening. Also in the winning enclosure was Ballybay White team which overcame stiff opposition from Keady. On Saturday 21st May we have the Jimmy Gibson Memorial Trophy on offer. Play will start at 11am so we would like all players to be there is good time for the draw and all games will be played to a finished on the day.
