SUCCESSFUL SPRING CLEAN
Last Saturday's Spring Clean was a major success with the Tidy Towns Committee along with a number of volunteers collecting a full skip of litter and waste from the town and the approach roads leading to the town. Speaking to our website the Tidy Town Chairman Martin Gleeson said, "We had a great day last Saturday and all the volunteers can be very proud of their efforts. I would like to thank the hard working Tidy Towns Committee and the volunteers for a job well done. We had lots of fun and it turned out to be a great social ocassion as well as a good days work. I would also like to thank Monaghan County Council for supplying the litter pickers, high visibility vests, plastic bags and disposal gloves".
Martin also revealed that another pick will take place in a few months and he would encourage more children to get involved. The Chairman also announced that new litter bins and wrap around flower baskets for poles would soon be appearing in the town.
