BOWLS AGM
There was a full turn out of members at the Ballybay indoor Bowls AGM held in the Bowling Pavilion on Thursday evening last. The Chairperson Angela Rutledge gave a comprehensive report of the events of the past year. She also thanked the various people that helped her in the smooth running of the club especially the Secretary Cora and Treasurer Rose. Both gave their reports and the financial report showed that we are in a healthy state for another year. Our table quiz that we held during the year was a big help as the membership was down this year and every effort should be made to get some new members for the coming year.
There is not a lot of change in personnel at the top table with Angela being elected in the chair for another year and Cora and Rose holding on to their positions. The position of PRO was discussed at length and it was felt that it was time for a replacement of the present scribe so Mr. Quiz Book Stephen Duffy will be keeping you informed of all the happenings at the club for the coming year.
It was agreed that we return to the same venue for the coming season which will start on the second Monday in September. The meeting concluded with Angela wishing JJ Duffy well as he is currently in hospital.
