Harvest is a good time to give thanks and remind ourselves that everything we have comes from God. Second Ballybay Presbyterian church is holding their annual Harvest Thanksgiving Festival in the church on Sunday 23rd October. The church will be decorated with all the usual harvest items including flowers, fruit, vegetables, grain etc. and other gifts of God for which we are thankful including music. The morning service at 12noon will be taken by Rev Peter Gamble, Presbyterian minister in Armagh. The children and the church choir will be singing some special harvest songs and the music will be provided by our own praise band.
Our harvest thanksgiving celebrations continue in the evening at 7.30pm when various members of the local community will be taking part. Ballybay Community Choir has prepared a number of beautiful pieces under the expert tuition of Father La Flynn. Our senior minister, Rev David Nesbitt, will conduct the service and we will sing some of the well known harvest hymns.
A light supper will be served in the church hall after the service and we invite the whole community to join us as we take time out to give thanks to God for another harvest.
