After a most exciting day’s bowling in tropical weather conditions the winner was Seamus Winters who had a comprehensive win over Terry Clarke. The Vice Chairman Jim O Hanlon was present to congratulate Seamus on his great win and hopes he will do well in the final which will be on our Green in September. Next for decision will be the pairs which is Saturday 6th August at 11am so now is the time to get your names on the list in the pavilion. The draw will take place on Thursday 4th August. There is a bit of a back jam in the local league with players away on holidays but its hoped to sort this out next week by not allowing any more cancellations of games.
There is just one cup game left in the first round and it is been played tonight (Thursday) with St. Michaels versus Shercock. Also on the green tonight is Ballybay Whites taking on Scotshouse in the league. Both these games should be entertaining.

BUILDINGS PAINTED

Six properties opposite the Courthouse have recently been cleaned up and painted courtesy of a REDZ scheme which is administered by Monaghan County Council. Ballybay and Castleblayney are part of a Rural Economic Development Zone (REDZ) and were successful in securing €75, 000 for improvements to local properties. The money has allowed a number of idle buildings to be improved and that part of the town looks much better thanks to the schemes contribution.
