EMMET TO RUN FROM MALIN TO MIZEN
Well known Ballybay native Emmet McAviney is planning to run the length of the country in 10 days and in doing so aims to raise €50,000 for Barnardos. Speaking to the Ballybay News Emmet said, “ I’m taking on the challenge to run from Malin Head, Co. Donegal to Mizen Head, Co. Cork over 10 days between the 28th June and 7th July, following a route which will see me visit many local GAA clubs along the way.
I’m doing it to raise money for Barnardos children’s charity who do incredible work supporting vulnerable children and their families across the country. I know there are thousands of families in Ireland who are struggling. They are suffering. All funds raised with go towards Barnardos’ Family Support services across Ireland.
