A number of locals have taken to Social Media to thank people at this torrid time. Here is a selection. Caroline Chambers wrote, “I would like to give a big thank you to my uncle Danny’s carers Sandra Moffett and Hazel Mc Bride and to the Ballybay Garda who has been checking in on him”.
David Lane said, “Today is Mother's Day for the Lithuanian community living in Ballybay. I would like to publicly thank Patricia McCabe of the Sodabarrel for going that extra step yesterday. I am stuck in Dublin , Romule , my partner is in Ballybay and her daughter Aiste is in Lithuania , Aiste wanted to give her mum a gift for Mother's Day so I phoned Particia who personally delivered 2 window boxes to Wylies Hill . Thank You Patricia , we shall always be grateful to you”.
Another person wrote, “Our Family would like to say a massive THANK YOU to Michelle Smith and who all sent the fantastic food parcel for our family. We are very grateful. Ballybay and its people. You are in our prayers”.
