A programme of events for the annual Culture Night which takes place in just two weeks on Friday 20th September has been released. At 5pm there will be an unveiling of mural art photographs on the gable of Mc Ginnity’s wall at the junction of Main Street and Clones Road. These large-scale photographs of Ballybay will be permanently displayed thereafter.
Ballybay Recreation Centre will host youth drama workshops from 6pm until 8pm. The workshops are being held with a view to establishing a youth theatre group on an ongoing basis. This workshop will be conducted by members of the Monaghan Youth Theatre which is based in the Garage Theatre.
The shop next to the Ballybay Inn will be turned into a pop-up art studio and gallery. It will display arts and crafts from classes held on Thursday 19th September. Members of the public are also encouraged to take along photographs of people and places in Ballybay. Using these pictures a collage will be produced.
And finally a variety concert featuring music, song, dance and drama will take place in the Pearse Brothers Centre at 8-30pm.
