BOWLS
This week sees the outdoor bowling club travel to Fivemiletown to play the stars team in the Border Counties League. With both teams having 10 points from their two previous fixtures it will be all to play for this week.
In the local league Shercock got the deciding points when they played Derryvalley last week but its still Corcaghan that is riding high with twelve points at this stage.
On Sunday evening last we had two bowling coaches from the Crumlin Bowling Club in Dublin on our green to coach 8 of our young bowlers that were in attendance. Our thanks to Francis Farmer and Paul Greenan for organising this event and also the junior classes that they supervise each Tuesday on our green starting at 7-30pm Anyone wishing to take up the game of bowls should just come along any evening and they will be made very welcome.
A reminder that the Jimmy Gibson memorial trophy will take place on Saturday 8th June at 10-30am. Make sure you have your name on the timesheet in the club house. Our thanks to those who helped with the painting of the club pavilion and also Seamus for spraying the moss – a great job done by all.
