ULSTER CHAMPIONS

Monaghan minor ladies were crowned Ulster champions on Sunday last when they defeated Donegal 0-13 to 1-6. Congratulations are due to the seven local girls four from St. Brigid’s and three from Latton who were involved. Jayne Drury captained the side and despite being doubled and sometimes triple marked she managed to score three points from play. Clare Duffy had a fine game between the sticks and had no chance with the Donegal goal. Caoimhe Brennan was solid at corner back while Jane Duffy also turned in a fine defensive performance. Michaela Linden came on in the second half and made a wonderful block to deny a Donegal score. Megan Millar and Emile Culleton were not used on this occasion.
