BOWLS
The outdoor bowling club had their first league game on Wednesday 23rd April away to Omagh but despite our best efforts we went down 6 points to 2. This week sees us travel to Fivemiletown for our first game in the Mc Gurk memorial shield which is played on a home and away basis. The home game will be on Wednesday 8th May and the combined score will count.
Our first game in the local league took place on Friday evening last and it was between Ballybay Maroon and Balllybay White. It finished four points to two in favour of the maroons.
The Vincent Cup was played for on Saturday last in Fivemiletown on a windy but mainly dry day. The winners on the day were Bertie Latimer and Benny Smyth along with Matt Livingstone and Harold Nelson. The cup and prizes were presented at a meal in the golf club afterwards. It will be Ballybay’s turn to host the cup next year.
